Hillsborough County schools have won a $2.2 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for research on what makes teachers effective and students more successful.

Head Start programs awarded $11.7 million
Hillsborough County's Head Start and Early Head Start got a jolt of federal stimulus money with a whopping $11.7 million grant over two years.

Hillsborough County has launched an exciting new contest and here is your chance to enter and win! From September 7, 2009 through November 30, 2009, you will see famous "Bins" (or actually "Bens") around the County on billboards and on the side of public buses, as well as other places like your neighborhood movie theatre.
